Rainforest Room caters for up to 24 children per day with 4 early childhood trained educators guiding their education and relationships. Additional educators are present on days where children with additional needs attend.
In Rainforest Room educators focus on preparing children for school both academically as well as socially and emotionally, which are equally important, whilst fostering their skills and interests.
Each child is designated a focus teacher who aims to guide their individual interest and development while incorporating the Australian curriculum, The Early Years Learning Framework, Early Childhood Theorist and Aboriginal Pedagogy. This is tracked through observations and compiled into a Portfolio of each child, a wonderful keepsake of their early years.
Focus teachers work with families to learn about children’s interests at home and goals or areas of focus they might have. We feel strongly that a positive link between a child’s home and UKC is crucial for optimal learning and development.
